Due to malnutrition for a good portion of her life, Riley is not very tall for her age. She stands around maybe 5'2”-5'3” and is thin but has a lot of lean muscle under dark skin. Her hair is short and would be kinky curly if she knew how to properly take care of it but gets tied back into a poofy ponytail instead. There are a number of small scars on her face and the rest of her with a noticeable one on her forehead and another on her top lip (the other noticeable scar is a bite mark on her left hand that she keeps hidden under fingerless gloves). She has dark eyes that are very expressive which is why when she's bothered by something she tends to look down or away. She's not a decent poker player and has a lot of tells about how she really feels about something. For the most part though she tends to have a smile with lots of teeth and a confident attitude that is easily displayed in her posture. She can also be quite the show off and loves to over exaggerate cockiness or silliness or whatever it is since it draws the eye toward her. This especially comes into play if she's telling a story or reading a joke or trying to talk someone into doing something fun but that they probably will get in trouble for.
History: Riley's life in her world was not a long one. It began after the apocalypse took place and she was born into a broken world. There she lived with her mother and father where they survived as best they could. However, she was very young when her father was bitten and the disease claimed him causing him to kill her mother. With no other hope of surviving, she somehow killed her father and then ran off with the horrifying images of what had taken place burned into her mind.
She witnessed the military taking control and taking in orphans like herself to train them to be soldiers to keep innocent people in their place. And after being taken to the school to learn how to fight she knew that she only had so long before she would be made into a soldier. After all, children in the school were forced into the military when they hit the age of sixteen. Which was why she turned to trying to find a rebel group known as the Fireflies.
In doing so she met Ellie and the two bonded in a single night. They saved each other as they sneaked out of the school and found the Fireflies who rejected Riley though she begged to join them. Together they returned to the school and became closer than one could imagine, Ellie being the only one precious to Riley. That didn't stop her from leaving months later before she turned sixteen to join the Fireflies.
After joining them she found out that she would be sent elsewhere and Ellie join wasn't allowed to join. Unable to be taken so far from her friend, she left the Fireflies even though she knew it could mean her death. Sneaking Ellie out of the school they reconnected and forgave each other and Ellie told her not to leave her. They kissed and decided to run away together. It was then the Infected attacked and both girls were bitten in their attempt to flee. They decided to be poetic and go mad together. Sadly only Riley died.
She woke up in Asgard where she was part of House Loki. The Infection was stopped there and she was able to live an afterlife in a place where people loved her and respected her. It was amazing to her that people would actually believe in her and want her around and she gladly fought to protect the place and the family she'd formed. She wanted to protect people like Maglor and the Assassin Brotherhood and so many others. For the first time she really opened up to people and finally started to grow as a person now that people didn't look at her like she was a waste of space.
When the war ended, she decided to stay with her dog and said goodbye to Ellie. From there she was taken in as an Assassin and decided to learn to be her own person.
Personality: This is a girl who is a survivor. She has been through hell and back again and has learned that sometimes hard choices have to come before anything else. It's tough, it sucks, it has to be done. For that reason, Riley has had to make some terrible life choices that she now has trouble talking about. After all, doing what you need to do does not necessarily make you a bad person when you have been raised in a world where it's basically kill or be killed.
But she somehow manages to put a smile on her face and laugh and joke with others. She can take a little bit to fully open up to others but that doesn't stop her from being friendly and even being a prankster with those around her. In fact, she will do what she can to boost others up and protect them so they don't have to live the life she was forced to have as a child. Sure she's still basically a kid herself but the world has forced her to grow up fast, there is no doubt about that. And she has a very strong sense of right and wrong and what falls into that weird morally gray category as well.
All the same, it's clear that living in Asgard did wonders on her. By being around people who were willing to see that she had potential and that she wasn't just some kid and that she was an actual person, she has been able to open up to others. She's even been able to have herself a family and be close to people who are not just Ellie. People like Maglor and Desmond and Altair are among the many who showed her that there are those out there who care about her and are willing to show her that she doesn't have to be around abusive people who don't really want her. She can be with those who will give her the tools to thrive and grow as a person.
So she's still a prankster who loves jokes and a good pun, she still has her dark past, but now she has a future to look forward to and it's looking brighter each day. The world is a beautiful place and Ellie isn't the only light she has anymore. Amazing how much easier it is to see past the darkness of your heart when there is someone to remind you the light is there.

Riley comes with a number of content/trigger warnings, including:
1. Child Soldier - She never became one for the military but she was trained to become one.
2. Rebel Terrorist - The Fireflies were basically terrorists who would bomb and attack the military to rebel against what the military was doing. This also means they had harsh initiation processes and Riley had to do terrible, terrible things she doesn't want to talk about just to become a member.
3. Child Abuse - The first two points bring us to this one. They were cruel in how they trained her and handled her and called her horrible things and treated her like she was lower than dirt. She has been physically hurt by adults for both the military and the Fireflies and has also been emotionally and mentally attacked.
4. Zombies - While the Infected in her world are not necessarily zombies, they are very close to it. She is not afraid to talk about what she encountered with them.
5. Graphic Parent Death - She witnessed her father rip her mother to shreds as an Infected before Riley herself killed her own father in order to survive him attacking her next.
6. Death - Riley herself died soon after she was Infected (she cannot Infect others but is unaware of this currently) herself. Details on this are vague but we do know she died.
If you don't want those things to come up, or don't want to be tagged by him at all, please comment below.
